A VISION OF LUXURY IN THE HEART OF GHANA

The Baobab River Lodge aims to develop a new upmarket eco lodge on the banks of the famous Volta River, creating a sanctuary for business and pleasure set in an inspiring natural setting.

Baobab River Lodge aims to offer local and international visitors an upmarket venue that has been purposely conceptualised and designed to address a current gap in the tourism market.

A luxury eco-lodge, catering for both leisure and business markets, aims to be the perfect place for collaborations, inspirations, corporate retreats, strategic meetings, seminars or professional engagements in a resort style setting, echoing the tradition of meeting at the baobab tree.

In Ghana, there are few destinations within a short drive from Accra that offer luxury accommodation, meeting, conferencing and hospitality facilities set in this type of location.

With more international tourists visiting Ghana, there is a greater demand for more upmarket hotels like the Baobab River Lodge.

The rich diversity, history and culture of the local life is reflected in the festivals and ceremonies that the Volta is famous for, of which the Hogbetsotso of the Anlos people are probably the most famous. The people of Wli also have a unique festival to give thanks for the gift of water, which is abundant in the lagoons, rivers and waterfalls.

The proposed development will include 25 executive suites located near the river, as well as a 75 room hotel offering luxury upmarket accommodation, with conferencing and meeting amenities featuring top hospitality services.

THE BAOBAB

Baobab trees are not just known for providing shade and nourishment, but are also a central part of traditional African legend.

It is believed that kings and elders would hold meetings under the baobab tree, with the belief that the tree’s spirits would guide them in decision-making. In more modern times, the Baobab tree is commonly used as a venue for community meetings or even as a classroom.
